Mummy Ideas: Routine charts

These were brilliant - I tried to find a ‘shiny’ example off the internet but I actually much
prefer mine!!


What you have to understand is before we moved into our house and used these, we had
lived with my in-laws for 2.4 years. I have significant reduced mobility so I needed my children to
know their morning and evening routine.
I took loads of pictures of ‘things’ like their toothbrushes, school bags, school uniform, school
shoes & coats. The idea was they could move the pictures of things they recognized from the
Do It pile to the Done It pile.
I don’t use them anymore because my children don't need them but can see this as would have been very
useful training a toddler.

About me

To understand me and the changes to mine and my families life you would have to know that pre brain hemorrhage/children I was a solicitor. Before the brain hemorrhage I was a very active mum. I want to blog now because I hate being bored, I want to help other disabled young people - this is not a position you expect to be in in your 30’s (!) and I hope it will be interesting to others. A bit about me: I am 37 year old wife and mummy to a 11 & 9 year old. I was going to go into lots of detail but suffice to say I had a big brain hemorrhage caused by an AVM (Arteriovenous Malformation) causing a stroke - type 'AVM' into a internet search engine if you are interested. I was born with it and I could have had a bleed at anytime. Mine bled and now I spend all day/every day striving for 'a semblance of normality'... My Children: The PICKIEST of Picky Eaters

 Why don’t my children eat? I ask myself constantly. I know what you are thinking: “MY children eat, she must be pandering to  them in some way” and “don’t give them anything else. If they are hungry  they will eat” But here’s the thing. I am really not pandering to them. My children simply  appear to have wills of iron when it comes to food – and yes, they will go hungry. I have heard it all when it comes to solutions to picky eaters. ‘Don't give them any choice’ is one classic. I don’t. ‘Just keep putting it on their plate ultimately they will eat it’ is another. Mine haven't and they’re 7 and 9 years-old. But I still persist, putting food on their plate for them to waste.
