My coffee machine
Any blog of mine wouldn't be complete without me talking about my love of my coffee machine
I have always loved my coffee.

  When I left the law to have babies I bought myself a nice coffee machine and I have never
looked back! Now it's even more important it's easy and it is - you just
put a capsule in and press a button. Even the milk thing (that I normally can't be bothered with
and have it black) is easy - it can be stored in the fridge for 2 days and is all dishwasher safe.

Before my vitamin D tablets I was drinking copious cups of coffee (I'm not recommending that
but it helped with my dreadful tiredness) and this machine made life easier.


One cup kettle
Anyone who has elderly grandparents or parents should think of getting one of the one cup
kettles - I never have to deal with lifting a kettle containing boiling water.

Just lifting a kettle is nothing until you can't because you're either too frail or (like me)
you have no balance, then it becomes a big hazard. This amazing thing means I can adjust
how much boiling water I get (one cup or a small saucepan) and I don't have to risk scolding myself pouring it.




Ginseng

I used to take this as a student before exams and I do think it makes you quicker at recalling facts
and less mentally tired. Before my vitamin D tablets when I suffered from simply dreadful tiredness,
this really helped although it did take a while to get into my system. I wouldn't be without it now -
I don't really know how it helps but it does.

The many joys of being disabled: Random Sickness and how I wouldn't recommend it.

I spent years trying to lose weight. Years. The year before I got married, I even went to a Rosemary Conley fitness club. I lost half a stone and announced to my fiance that this would be the skinniest I’d ever look. “Well that was false advertising,” he stated a few years later. Anyway. We’re still married. When I had my brain haemorrhage, I went down 3 stone. Oh, the irony. Every cloud and all that… Although I was the slimmest I’d ever been, I wouldn’t recommend it. I was incredibly, possibly unhealthily, thin. And the fact was, it happened, because after my brain bleed I was randomly sick most days for over a year. After a year, I was lucky (I jest) enough to be randomly sick every other day or so.
